post one extract of a event that happened to me when i was working at RI
Old Staff 1 (on the phone in a screechy tone): Hello...IT ...my pc hor..cannot shut down leh...den wan to end the process oso cannot leh..jialat.. ..i tink it hang..
Me (in confusion): huh..process ?wat process? which application hang ?? got try control alt del ??
Old Staff 1: I tried that !! (take note of the !!) still cannot.. I cant even shutdown
Me: okok..i go over n take a look
(in the front office)
Me (looks at the screen): .......... (screen was showing "Windows is preparing to shut down" This is a common shutdown screen in Windows 98)
Old Staff 1: it just hung there
Me: ........ For WINDOWS 98 ar....if hang just power off ..no choice one...it is windows..it is microsoft !
Young Staff 2: just power off
Old Staff 1: cannot ...i just tried ,.i press teh power
Me (Demonstrate to Old Staff 1): hold down the power switch....
Old Staff 1: CAN LIDDAT AR ?!
Me: Yes...and Viola (pc switches off)
Old Staff: oh..can liddat..thanks ar ..sorry for the trouble
